ABOUT NEWSKNIGHT

History

NewsKnight is the online publication of The Knights Templar School in Baldock, Hertfordshire. We were first created in October 2012 as a news magazine, that was distributed to all students. Through the mastermind of Mr McDermott (A former journalist himself), he managed to assemble a team of students, ranging from years 7-13, that was published every term, for students, parents and teachers to read.

In 2014, NewsKnight was moved online as www.KTSNewsKnight.com through Wix.com. We write our articles in the interest of students, with the team giving variety and interest into any topic. As well as school news, we also cover interesting topics in the news, such as Politics, Showbiz and Sport. We also have a Life section, which looks into tips and trends like fashion and popular culture.

In September 2017, former Editor in Chief Bill Bowkett left The Knights Templar School to study politics at university. Simultaneously, Mr McDermott left to peruse his teaching career elsewhere. This left an online, multi-award winning legacy to be upheld by Mr Breadmore (Drama teacher at KTS) and Rowan Gray (Current Editor in Chief).

Newscast has been the school news program of the Knights Templar School since 2010, which is made every half term and made, edited and hosted by students.
