CHARITY FOOTBALL BONANZA


a year 12 fund raising team ran a popular football tournament To raise money for the sixth form

Thirty students participated in a football tournament with enthusiastic support from fellow pupils. During lunchtimes five lunchtimes, students played in a 5-a-side tournament in year groups.

To win the tournament teams competed in a league and points meant prizes. The totals were tallied by volunteers to decide who won an impressive prize or box of chocolates for the runners up.

Year 7 pupil, Josh Dhesi said, “I thoroughly enjoyed playing in the tournament as it allowed me to play with my friends whilst also playing competitively. Hopefully the event will happen again soon as it was great fun”.

Captain of the winning team Aran Bizzla, Year 11, said, “It was an absolute buzz to win the tournament.

"The team played very well with precise passes and quality finishing. I still can’t believe won the tournament.”

The football event was a great success and raised £160 for the sixth form. Players and volunteers had a great time and it is hoped it can take place again next year. Event organiser Joe Royal said, “The tournament was fun and a great success even though it was quite chaotic at times. It was good to see that everyone had fun and we raised money for a good cause”.
